Nasser Al-Khelaifi's unifying speech, in which he sought to bring France along in his support for PSG, did not convince Daniel Riolo at all. Far from it.

A big PSG supporter, Riolo had to swallow some bitter pills seeing Luis Enrique on top of the world for the second time, while he had so harshly criticized him upon his arrival.
Now, PSG is crushing everything in Europe, and that even applies to Ligue 1. In a forceful statement on After Foot, the pundit directly attacked Al-Khelaifi. Notably, when the PSG executive stated that PSG was "a club for all of France, not just Paris."
Getting people in the provinces to love them is not really the creed or the history of PSG, and Riolo believes he sees through the game of the French capital club's president. For him, it is above all a political maneuver, because he wants Paris to simply represent France, and for nothing else to exist alongside it.
"He is the guy who wants to install a hegemony, crush others, who wants no other club to exist. He does not defend Ligue 1 because he does not want it to exist. He wants to conquer all markets and crush the French football market," Riolo said.
"Everyone knows that I have supported this club since I was a kid, but I have never wanted others to like us. That is not the goal when you are in Ligue 1. It's us, it's our club, it's our life. What is this mixing, this mentality? How can you say such a thing? It's each their own life, each their own identity. He has no right to force his identity on all of us," he added.
Riolo has often pointed out the worrying conflicts of interest involving Al-Khelaifi, PSG president, member of the LFP board of directors, and holder of the TV rights for Ligue 1 until this season with BeIN Sports.
Several hats that sometimes come into conflict, such as when LFP Media ultimately lost the World Cup rights to BeIN Sports, or when national rights are negotiated at prices far from what was valid in the past, without that affecting PSG's finances, unlike other clubs.
For his part, in a season review press release titled "The Legend Continues to Be Written," Al-Khelaifi stated that the Parisian club has entered a new dimension by achieving back-to-back Champions League titles. The PSG president also reiterated his ambition to build a lasting legacy.
